My Tastings

Grand Vin De Bourgogne 2017 Bret Brothers

Medium lemon, slightly petillant medium intensity on the nose with citrus fruit of lemon, pink grapefruit, Tree fruits of red delicious apples braben pear, white peach, nutmeg, fig, lightly toasted vanilla bean, and yeasty bread. On the palate, dry high acid medium alcohol, medium body, and medium intensity. Delivers notes of lemon curd and juicy lemons, fresh apples and pears, fig and nutmeg peach pith, baking spice, the texture is a spicy and long finish. This an outstanding wine that distributes a balanced concentration of fruit aromas and flavors with brilliant acid.

The medium alcohol is well integrated and while still youthful its use of a neutral medium for aging gives it to restrain and a sophisticated palate The lovely scent yeast and white bread, and delicately perfumed with baking spices, give it a round body, coating the palate further intensifying a persistent finish. The wine is you can drink now but can stand to age another 5-10 years for its complexity and acid further developing complex notes of butterscotch dried dates and figs.
