The Ultimate Bodega At Bodega Bay

The coastal city of Bodega Bay is known as the setting for one of Hitchcock’s most famous films. When visitors come, they never forget driving down its picturesque roads and seeing the sights that unfold before them; it has quite an impact on them when they see The Birds playing out right before their very eyes. The first thing I saw was the road, from one of the opening scenes in which Tippi Hedren is driving her Aston Martin into Bodega Bay. I remember Yet all this may take away from what else Bodega Bay has to offer- a variety of cultures and history waiting to be explored at every turn.

But more importantly was the tiny town of Jenner, not officially part of the larger Bodega Bay area but still, a gem huddled in its shadow. Babito and I stumbled into this town for much-needed gas on our way to find central Bodega Bay – there’s a gas stop/mini market, an inn, one restaurant, and what I would consider a destination you should check out if you’re nearby – Tasting by The Sea Wine Bar.

Owners Gregory and Gypsy Keim have transformed Jenner California, which had been fading away into obscurity, into a dreamland escape for the day. Ironically, it’s the best example of capitalism as the Indian man sitting behind his small convenience store counter has shares in three-quarters of Jenner. The rest is beaches or state property – so after one purchase from him, he insisted we try out Tasting By The Sea Wine Bar; drink this view

Gregory and Gypsy Keim are an exemplary couple who met when they were both going through tough times in their lives. Today, they’re living life together at last after escaping the unforgiving city of Los Angeles for a more tranquil North Coast County that welcomes them with open arms. There, they run Tasting by The Sea Wine Bar – where you’ll find them sharing great conversations with guests from near and far over glasses of wine made just for them by small production producers whose wines Gregory knows very well.

Whether you’re a wine expert or not, you will not be disappointed. There are many grape varieties to choose from – including Pinot Noir and Chardonnay – that keep your taste buds yearning for more. But don’t forget about the featured wines from Eric Kent and Hooker & Stoner Wines. Why? Because Greggory used to work closely with these renowned winemakers! Eric Kent conceived 15 years ago combining his passion for artistry and wine-making; Colleen Humphry is the mastermind behind all of this at age 33 who just found her true calling in life!

Hooker and Stoner Family Wines are truly unique and difficult to find. Based in Santa Rosa, California. Any passionate wine lover knows that finding or developing a spectacular Gewurztraminer in California is equivalent to mining for blood diamonds. Okay, so it’s not quite that extreme, but any place in the world may annihilate a delicate variety like Gewurztraminer. Most people believe Pinot Noir is difficult; yet Pinot Noir (such as a playboy) can resonate with its individuality where it is cultivated and produced. Gewurztraminer, like an angel, is fastidious about where she sleeps at night; if you choose her too early, she won’t wear perfume; if you choose her too late, she won’t make your mouth water!

She rarely delivers the orgasmic experience you’re looking for. Hooker and Stoner Family Wines, proudly displayed at Tasting By The Sea Wine Bar. It’s like magic in a glass, and the bottle costs less than $30!

Classically perfumed with oriental spices and ripe lychee fruit, coating the palate with weight along with exotic fruit, clean wax, and a surprise happy ending of lively acid, for a long finish found nowhere else but on the Central Coast or, indeed, in California.

If you’re not feeling the call of wine, local craft beers are available on tap.

One picture cannot capture all that Jenner has to offer – this hidden gem is paradise in a bottle.

As I have written before about the innumerable gifts one can find while traveling, this one is also a rare find. Greggory and Gypsy created an enchanted kingdom for us to visit at Tasting by the Sea Wine Bar in Jenner CA – you swear you fell into the Rabbit Hole.

I did not get to meet Gypsy (Thank you, Jesus, for rescuing this cancer survivor)! But I met Greggory and I felt within him, I met her too. I never met Gypsy (Thank you, Jesus, for saving this cancer survivor)! But then I met Greggory, and within him, I met her.

By the way, this speaks volumes about this man; he wore a t-shirt when we first met him, but turned around and changed his clothes for only one picture. Personally, it didn’t matter what he was wearing from the beginning because he had us convinced of his qualities from day one.
